This is the route map for the beer walk you can walk it any way around you wish as there is no set way around, it all depends on which pub you are heading to.

Welcome to the Ballards Beer Walk!

To The Three Horseshoes: Takes about an hour and a half cross country, very muddy! Route marked with yellow tape.

Turn left out of the brewery and take 1ST footpath sign on left.
Follow finger posts bearing right behind the houses, & cross 3 fields & 3 stiles & bridges towards stone barn.
Turn left over bridge and immediately right along path and over stile.
Continue across field; when you get to the middle you will see the next gate and bridge.
The stile is very bad here; be careful! Bear left across field to stile by large oak tree.
Turn right along edge of field, round corner, and past stile.
Go up steep bank as best you can! Turn left along the edge of the wood until you get to Woodhouse Farm.
Go through farmyard to far right corner past black plastic bales & over stiles.
Go straight down side of field & past post in ditch.
Cross stile by wide gate & keep along right hand edge of field.
Follow the fence to finger post & stile; go right through hedge past edge of plantation.
Follow path over slippery bridge and up steep path past pheasant pens to stile.
The path then goes straight across the field bearing slightly left to fingerpost at top edge. Cross stile and climb up through wood.
Follow track at top to Elsted Church. Go over stone stile into churchyard.
Do not follow finger post to left after church (I don't know where it goes, but not to the pub!). Go along the lane straight ahead, to crossroads and turn left to Three Horseshoes.
PLEASE LEAVE ALL GATES AS YOU FIND THEM AND KEEP DOGS ON LEADS. THERE MAY BE SHEEP AND CATTLE.

To The EIsted Inn
From Three Horseshoes turn right down road and keep going for about a mile and a half.
Pub on right after railway bridge.

To the Southdowns Hotel from the Three Horseshoes across the fields
Turn left out of the pub, go 50 yards along the lane then turn right to the Church.   Take the footpath to the right of the church and follow the path more or less straight as marked on the map till you come out in Dumpford Lane opposite the Southdowns Hotel.   We are requested not to go there till after 1.00 as they have a large party of people for lunch.

The Elsted Inn Direct from Brewery: about two and a half miles along lanes.

Turn right out of brewery and take next right.
Keep going along this lane, past Southdowns Hotel.
Opposite small housing estate turn right and continue until you find the pub opposite you.

To The Keepers Arms, Trotton: about two and a half miles along lanes.

Follow directions to Elsted Inn, but when you get to the small housing estate go straight on towards Trotton until you get to the main road when you will find the Keepers Arms up hill on the right.

To The Ship, South Harting: about a mile & three quarters along lanes.
Turn left out of the Brewery and follow lane to South Harting; pass the shop on your right, continue on right hand pavement to pub on right.   There is a nice garden behind the pub on the far side and a very good Sunday Lunch!
