Hops

Hops are added to the brew in the copper, where they are boiled  with sweet worts produced from the malted barley in the mash, to give flavour & aroma to the brew.

Hops also act as a good filtering bed. After the rolling boil they naturally settle to the bottom of the Copper or Hop Back, & when the wort (
beer to be) is drawn thru to the wort cooler, they will filter out any impurities that have come from the Mash Tun.

After grading only hop cones are left, they are then conveyed to the oast house.
